If like me you grew up watching Coyote’s myriad of attempts to catch Road Runner you will delight in this movie. Within the first new minutes you get to relive some of most brilliant failures
The movie takes us several years on when Wil E. Coyote is at a loss of what to try next in his quest to catch the Road Runner.
When he sees an advertisement from Kevin Avery (Will Forte) a personal injury lawyer he has an idea. Why not take on ACME, the manufacturer of all the contraptions he’s tried. Such a simple idea, why hadn’t he thought of it already.
And so Coyote teams up with the small-time lawyer to take on ACME.
The lawyer thinks they’re only looking for compensation for a pair of malfunctioning roller skates, but Coyote’s plans are much bigger, to sue the company for ALL the devices he’s ever used.
As the court drama unfolds the Avery must take on his old school nemesis Buddy Crane (John Cena). It soon becomes clewar that Avery is way out of his depth. Not to worry though because Coyote has other plans entirely.
As the attempts fail spectacularly, I pondered:
- Ten minutes into the movie I was already laughing my head off;
- This movie is such a wonderful trip down memory lane;
- The movie touches on friendship, purpose and hope;
- I’m so pleased political correctness didn’t get in the way and we got to see the poor coyote suffer all the usual mishaps.
