Fringe: Perth Secrets History Tour with Famous Sharron

On a hot night in Perth why go on a walking tour? Because the secrets are well researched and fascinating and well … Famous Sharron! The fully accessible walking tour was an absolute hoot.

Perth Secrets History Tour with Famous Sharron

With the sun going down, we gathered outside the Perth Museum, a group of strangers who’d soon feel like mates.

Sometimes technology is used perfectly and this was the case, as we donned headphones usually reserved for silent discos. We were also given the link to a site full of well researched information about each stop.

For the next two hours we explored the city and Northbridge uncovering long forgotten secrets, deeds involving ice cream, cigarettes, massive bells, brothels and murder on the dance floor, to name a few.

As we said our goodbyes I pondered:

  1. As expected, Famous Sharron was a marvelous host, her knowledge was only surpassed by her humour and ability to convey both while walking backwards;
  2. She was also very adept at incorporating comments from adoring fans or beeping car horns as we passed by.
  3. The headphones were brilliant, especially as you could tune the volume to your own needs;
  4. An added bonus was the online information remained accessible after the tour. This meant that you could show others where you’d been and verify facts when they didn’t believe you;
  5. No wonder this tour has been a prize winner in previous years
  6. Will definitely look up other tours by Hidden de Tours
