Restaurant Review: Rambla on Swan

Rambla on Swan is fast becoming our go to place for special occasions. I’ve lost count of the number of people I’ve told to go there, each one coming back with glowing reviews. So here’s another to add to the mix.

Another birthday another visit to Rambla on Swan. Yes the view out to the Swan River from South Perth is spectacular, but that’s nothing compared to the pictures on your plate.

First up the entree. Three tasty morsels, this time Wagu beef check, a cauliflower charred corn and a salmon roast leek option. Three pieces amongst three guests you’d think it’d make sharing easy, but which to pick? Honestly we felt we could’ve gone straight to dessert but we’d already ordered mains.

Next up the mains. Two of us couldn’t go passed the fish of the day. Succulent white flesh served with steamed asparagus, kipfler potatoes, baby fennel pollen and a delicious butter sauce. So simple, so delicious. It’s a favourite for me, and always hard to make the first cut that destroys the image.

It was fish all round with a second seafood option a goldband snapper with noodles I think.

With a home made birthday cake waiting at home there was no room for the desserts. Still that didn’t stop the restaurant acknowledging the occasion. A sweet treat at the end. Modern Australian at its very best. Fine dining without the snobbery or utterly unrealistic price tag.

Thank you yet again Rambla on Swan.
