Who are you?

Hopefully this posts okay I believe there have been some fairly big problems in blog land today.

June 30, end of the financial year. It also marks the first six months of The Ponder Room, well almost, strictly speaking that will be on July 22, still I find myself in a reflective mood. Mostly it has me pondering about you, who you are, what you’re up to? Are you…….

  • Racing out to buy the latest i-gadget before 5pm?
  • Franticly putting the finishing touches to a report or project before your boss whirls in demanding it?
  • Trying to calm a 2 year old who’s suddenly, inexplicably taken a dislike to The Wiggles, thinking why should he bother putting in an effort when Geoff just sits around sleeping all the time anyway?
  • Stuck on Flight 666 row 66 seat F (middle seat) dreaming of being on a flight to Hawaii instead of a 5 hour business meeting in Canberra?  (sorry Canberra)
  • A teenager who has just seen through his/her parents latest bribery strategy, and raises their efforts by pulling off their best petulant strop to date, all while your little brother videos it for youtube?
  • Sitting cross legged on the floor repeating your mantra ‘calm and relaxed’, while desperately trying to eradicate visions of the latest BAS form that just arrived in the mail.
What I do know is …

Just over half of you are from Australia. One quarter from the US. Nearly 10% from the UK and the same for the Ukraine. About 5% from New Zealand. 2% from each of Germany, France, Canada and 1% from the Netherlands, the Philippines and Malaysia.

When I initially dreamt of The Ponder Room being a place for ‘brains of many colours to come and relax’ I hadn’t anticipated such a rainbow.

I’m utterly thrilled and totally blown away by this, along with the number of visits and the comments I’ve received. So many, many thanks to anyone who’s dropped by and joined in the ramblings that go on in The Ponder Room.

What started out as a small idea about trying to get the most out of life, while injecting some fun into it, has grown into a whole new lifestyle for me. With 22 posts sitting in my ‘work in progress’ file demanding my attention, I hope you’ve got something out of it and will stick around.

  1. Well since you asked. I was none of the above that you suggested. I was the sucker who volunteered to stay back at work for an indefinite period of time to help imput the stock take figures before the morning. A few hours later I ended up being so cross eyed I called it a night and the boss can do the rest from home tonight.

I may have only just stumbled across this place, but I think that it is somewhere that I will stick around. You posts are a mixture of laughs, information and education.

Look forward to seeing what you come up with in the next 6mths 🙂

  2. Congrats on six months, it’s amazing work. And all I can say about so many posts patiently waiting for their moment is in the sun is, Wow.

  3. Ah stocktake I remember it well, can’t believe I forgot that. Well done for hanging in there for so long, hope you weren’t counting pins and needles!!
Thanks for the lovely comments too, they help me keep writing.
Have no idea what the next 6mths will bring, no grand plan or anything eekkk, glad you’re along for the ride with me

  4. Thanks Chris. I didn’t say anything about the calibre of the posts 😉 hopefully a good proportion of them will make it onto hear though.
Just spent another night in a hotel (for a review) so am very happy to be staying home for a while now

  5. Not at all. I work for a wholesaler. They just need to make sure that things are on the shelf like they are supposed to be. It is always a bit of a headache, but we survived it for another year.
