The other day I was late for lunch, nothing unusual about that but what was unusual was finding a specialist café that focused on meat dishes also providing a brilliant vegetarian option. Enter Wassup Dog in East Perth.
The shop front boasted good ‘Dogs’, think sausages in a bun. The vegetarian in me almost kept on going I’m so pleased I didn’t. Inside was a super groovy atmosphere with great music and so many interesting things to look at.
It’s all very well to have a great space and excellent super friendly service but what about the food?
Well the pumpkin, avocado bun was absolutely fantastic.
I guess the best way to convey how good it was is to say that on the way out I bought a second one to take to the Rockingham Writers Centre the next day. That one was just as good, it travelled very well just wrapped in glad wrap.
The chips were also I surprise. Crispy on the outside and super fluffy on the inside. I’m trying not to go back as they can easily become a habit.
The only things to ponder from this visit were:
- How on earth am I going to stay away, it really is worth a visit
- I wonder where the van will be? If it stops near my house this summer I’ll be done for.
