Okay, okay I know Perth is currently embracing its eclectic, creative side with small bars and laneway stencils popping up wherever you turn, and we did see live snakes in the PFF Students collection last year, but wild horses?

Sadly no, on this occasion the title simply reflects my ponderings about the importance of having a good proof reader.
All writers know that a great proof reader can mean the difference between an article getting accepted, and a lawyer appearing on your doorstep. So this year the Wild Horses, with a capital H, were provided by the delightful WA designer Natalie Donovan, not the Man From Snowy River … I can’t vouch for what happens next year.
Natalie is another of talented WA designers featured in the 2012 Perth Fashion Festival.
Passionately interested in fashion, style, design and decorating, these passions ultimately led to a design course, a diploma in Cert 4. This year saw her debuting her collection under her label Wild Horses.
‘Because this is my first time debuting my label and collections, you can expect a lot of handmade chunky bright necklaces with neon accents and candy colours, bright colourful suede skirts and jackets and pop colour silk tunics and summery dresses accessorised with bright suede clutches with fun tassels – expect bold, raw, colourful, fun.’ said Natalie.
Natalie’s collection did indeed focus on simplicity and vintage chic.
In terms of advice for those still making their way onto the fashion stage, Natalie added…
‘Follow your dreams! Stay true and keep grounded.’
Other designers to share the stage with Natalie were:the hand dyed shades of Anna Excell, and the classic male/female blendings of Ange Lang.
