Peacocks steal the show as UWA turns 100 (part 2)

Part of the UWA celebrations included the immortalisation of the peacocks. For anyone who studied there, especially in the Arts building, you’ll recall many a lecture being interrupted by their squawking. They were a welcome reminder of the world outside, and a timely alarm clock if you’d partied a tad too much the night before. Such an integral part of the UWA brand it was wonderful to see them playing a major role in the celebrations.

At first it simply wandered onto the Luminoushall lightshow, but then ….

and, perhaps adapting to the warm hue of the evening, changed colour.

I don’t know why but for some reason it had me pondering about some of the garb we used to phaff about in in the 80’s thinking we were the bees knees … or the peacocks … plumes???
