To me it will always be referred to as that cafe at Mullaloo Tavern, but I believe its real name is Panorama, which is appropriate given the view. Either way its a great setting for a relaxing lunch or sunset dinner by the beach.
Situated above The Dome it’s dearer, but the quality is there. so too the value. We could easily have bought one meal and shared it amongst the three of us.
The first meal out was the Pork Shank (above). Most restaurants serve a Lamb Shank so we were curious to see what would arrive. The word ‘massive’ often gets used these days, but on this occasion it was appropriate. Armed with a serrated knife this was a meat eaters dream. The pork was accompanied with an apple sauce and sauerkraut.

The second dish, also pork, was equally large, with an emphasis on meat rather than fat. Pork belly served with mashed potatoe (mashed with oil, making it even richer) and prawn.

The third, pigs trotters, no seriously fish and chips. This whiting dish is always hard to pass up, and plentiful especially with the accompanying salad. No need to order any side dishes.

Thankful for the scenery, we relaxed and chatted while the shank was slowly devoured.

You could stumble across the road and go for a walk or join in a game of cricket to help your meal go down, or you could simply drive home for an afternoon siesta, which we did … happy as pigs in heaven.
