This weekend is FRINGE Sunday Funday. It’s a fantastic fun day out for all and it’s FREE!. If you’re not sure what to see in the FRINGE Festival this year come along on Sunday for a taster. Did I say it’s free?
Head down to William Street in Northbridge between 1pm and 6pm this Sunday for an afternoon to remember. It was such a blast last year they’re doing it again.
“The atmosphere at FRINGE Sunday Funday is wonderful, with kids, families and everyone experiencing open-air Fringe entertainment.” said Artrage CEO Sharon Burgess.
The 3,000 sqm of bright PINK astro turf is being rolled out along the road stretching between Roe and Francis St. This alone is a fun thing to see, the main street of Northbridge pink!
This year the organisers have set up three performance spaces. A huge 28 shows will be on offer showcasing some of the comedy, circus, dance and cabaret shows on offer during the month-long Festival.
“The Festival program is huge but if you visit the Funday you can get a quick snapshot of what’s on offer to help you decide what to see.” added Ms Burgess.
Major sponsor Lotterywest and Healthway CEO Ralph Addis said Lotterywest is all about bringing people together through the arts.
“$1.2 million is going towards the 2023 FRINGE WORLD Festival as part of a $3.6 million Lotterywest grant over three years,” he said.
New things to entertain you at the Funday include more roving performers, stilt walkers, bubbleology, body art painting and the Kleenheat Silent Disco.
There will also be alfresco dining and cool, shady spots to sit and enjoy the passing parade. Alternatively you could pop into one of the Northbridge restaurants and bars.
FRINGE Sunday Funday supported by Lotterywest is on January 22 from 1.00pm to 6.00pm.
