With football finals here perhaps you’re looking for somewhere to watch the game. A recent visit to The Merrywell at the Crown for a quick lunch has us adding it to the list.

Not being a big meat eater I wasn’t sure how I’d go but there was just enough choice on the menu. On this occasion I couldn’t go passed the Falafel burger, with mushrooms, truffle oil, brie, and fries. While the mushrooms made it difficult to eat (don’t try this on a first date), the decadence of the melted brie will have me going back another day. I recommend adding some additional tomato as the patty was a bit dry, which can often happen with falafel.

The sitting area pit was a wise choice for two ladies wanting to catch up after several months. The higher level seated area may be less so, given the close proximity of the tables.

It’s worth taking a walk through the venue, particularly the outdoor area which would be a great option for a summer evening.
