The other day I was in the city around lunchtime but having spent all morning in a meeting the last thing I wanted to do was sit inside a stuffy café. Thankfully I found the solution at Basilica with its inside out design.
When I entered the restaurant and looked at the food options on display it was impossible to choose, so I took a seat to ponder for a moment.
Sitting in the far back corner it was a delight to chill out and watch the passing parade.
Eventually, with the help of a friendly waitress, I opted for one of the grilled vegetable options. It which was delicious and the side salad of rocket, tomato, corn, cucumber offered up a number of surprises. Actually it wouldn’t take much to make this a nice meal in itself.
As I went up to pay it was hard not to indulge in the cupcakes on display.
I can highly recommend Basilica for an inner-city lunch. The food was excellent quality, big portions and the service perfect for the lunchtime rush. If that’s not enough it’s a great place to people watch and ponder
