The other day I was between meetings and dropped into The Ingredient Tree in Wembley for what I thought was going to be a quick bite. But the store was so interesting I ended up lingering way longer than I thought.
Looking at the menu I contemplated having breakfast until the meals were delivered to the table next to me. Leaning over I asked what they were eating and consequently ended up with a mushroom and leek crepe served with salad.
The crepe was freshly cooked, full of creamy mushrooms and satisfying enough to become my main meal of the day. The crisp salad was a good addition as it helped cut through the creaminess of the mushrooms. It was well worth its $17 price tag. Meal finished it was time to look around the store at the shelves crammed with interesting produce.
The service was brilliant, with the staff welcoming everyone as soon as they come through the front door, and taking the time to discuss some of the more unusual items on the shelves.
They also do hampers and catering …
