Have you ever cursed the slow moving car in front of you? Been on the wrong end of a parking ticket? Or thought about what you’d do if everyone who’d ever wronged you converged in the same place at the same time? If so then Wild Tales is definitely for you.
This multi-award winning movie is the closing film for this years Spanish Film Festival. The good news is the movie has proved so popular that it’ll be going on to a general release after the Festival ends.
Wild Tales is made up of six deliciously black stories about revenge. The stories focus on every day events such as road rage, parking tickets, plus a hit and run, a wronged bride and the ultimate revenge played out in the skies.
The first story was set in a plane and airing so soon after the recent airline disasters, it resulted in much guilty laughter. When viewing this one it must be remembered that the movie was made months before life sadly imitated art.
It’s hard to say much more about the rest of the movie without giving the stories away. Suffice to say they are very satisfying in a wickedly dark way.
Wild Tales will leave you pondering …
- About what you’d do if all the people who’d ever wronged you ended up in one place … a plane maybe.
- About thinking twice before reacting to the slow moving car or other potential road rage events. If it wasn’t so dark the story would make a great Road Safety Campaign.
- About what would it take to push you over the edge and seek the ultimate revenge.
Five parts revenge, one part forgiveness, Wild Tales is a wicked must see. One of the funniest movies I’ve seen in years.
The movie is on at Cinema Paradiso on May 6th. Watch out for it popping up at other cinemas after the Spanish Film Festival ends.
