Many years ago I had a job in ‘the Terrace’ and it came with that rare commodity, a city car park. The car park was situated on top of the Grosvenor Hotel consequently every work day began with a wander through the old hotel. So I got quite a surprise when I returned there this week.
Built in the 1800’s I was delighted to see the old girl still standing. Not only was she standing, she was full to the brim of people enjoying the first gorgeous summer evening, particularly those under the stars in the beer garden.
The foods wasn’t bad either.
At $26 it came with a side salad.

One friend had the steak which came with chips, a salad and was cooked just the way she liked it.

The other two shared a pumpkin pizza.

All were impressed with the portions and freshness of their meals.

It was easy to forget that we were sitting in one of Perth’s oldest pubs;
-
My mind boggled about the changing fashions, traditions, meals and conversations that had taken place within the old girls walls;
-
If only there were more beautiful old hotels left in the CBD.
