Iced Chocolate Shaken Not Stirred (Bar de Halcyon)

An iced chocolate is an iced chocolate right? Wrong. Not when you experience one at Bar de Halcyon in Wolf Lane.

Bar de Halcyon operates like a Tapas bar making Pintxos snacks. I dropped in during the Public Perth street art project and was impressed with the décor, food and service.

For starters I probably spent way too long in the toilets. It’s a wonder someone didn’t knock on the door to see if I was alright. I blame it on the wallpaper (not the Mexican meal the night before). A wonderful collection of old photos. It’s well worth the visit.

In between lunch and dinner I opted for my standard afternoon treat of an iced chocolate.

As I watched on, the waitress placed all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker and ta da. The result was absolute bliss, a frothy, sweet, cold drink. I’ve never seen so much love put into an ice chocolate before. I vowed there and then to go back another day and try some of the other menu items. I hope you get there some day too In the meantime here are a few quick shots.
