Regular readers know my passion for examples of community development initiatives that help create positive community spirit. Naturally then, WA Day was a ‘go to’ event. Following is a sample of some of the initiatives I saw during the day. Hopefully some of them might spark some ideas for your community, and if so please let me know.

One of the first things I saw was the Story Telling tent where the children were all utterly engaged in the story being told by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company (more information here)

There were the usual stilt walkers, this time MasterChef inspired chefs and butterflies.

A chill out area where you could charge your mobile phone and play table tennis … an interesting combination.

Huge congratulations to all involved, it was a great day and I only went to the Perth Cultural Centre events, there was even more going on in other parts of the city. Roll on next year.

Fantastic to see the imagination and effort put into the exhibits.
I find it disappointing that these events are not given more publicity,
both prior to and after. Thank you for your coverage
My pleasure Anon, glad you liked it. Agree the effort put in is wonderful
Would love to have seen the tarp surfing, we went to Freo Monday not much happening there
Sorry to hear that, next year Rae.
