While 300,000 people were making their way to the Perth foreshore, an entirely different series of events were taking place at Scarborough Beach. Not long after they’d begun a group of young guys appeared wanting to get in on the act. There’s always someone who thinks they can do better.

The growing group soon got the attention of the occupants of two police vans parked a little futher up the road.  As the officers approached the group, a third van arrived. Thankfully the crowd dissipated without trouble and any potential fireworks were extinguished. Still I pondered …
  1. Had the call gone out for more police manpower at Scarborough beach, or had word simply got out about the free show?
  2. Considering Stirling Councils initiatives to make the area more ‘family friendly’, you have to ponder about the inclusion of a stripper pole.
  3. Or maybe, given the publics reluctance to pay for parking, the Council is considering alternative ways to raise the funds for their multi-million dollar beach development?
  4. Either way … how lucky are we to live in a city where you can go to the beach with a couple of girlfriends, strip down to your bikini, and practice a few moves as the sun sinks into the ocean … or not!
