With more and more people arriving in our fair state every day, we’re all well aware of the population explosion. You only have to attempt driving through Leederville during peak hour to realise we’re no longer the quiet state with a ‘country town’ feel. Things have changed … take parking for example.

Launching into the Christmas shopping throng it’s becoming almost impossible to not only find a parking spot, but also make it back to your car within the allotted time.
All too often an innocuous shopping expedition ends in a 100 metre sprint.
Throw in the odd obstacle along the way, and you soon have an achievement worthy of our golden girl of hurdles, Sally Pearson.
Sure Sally’s effort was inspiring but …
Let’s see Sally do the same thing with an arm full of plastic shopping bags, handles digging into her palms, as 15 lunch-sized cans of tuna band together on the right-hand side of the bag in a collective attempt for freedom. Forget Gold, that deserves a Platinum medal in my book.
