I am sooo blogging about this … a Magbutt random act of kindness

Sometimes while you’re meandering along in life you unknowingly slip into a patch of quick sand, and life becomes one step forward two steps back. Gathering your strength you trudge on hoping no one notices, and that something changes soon, and then ….

One day you go to your mailbox, the same mailbox you haven’t been able to get to for over a week. Inside amongst the flyers about office furniture, debt collection services and bank fees, you find a large square envelope addressed to you in beautiful calligraphy-like handwriting. When fully removed from the mailbox you notice the envelope has a large bulge in the middle … there’s something inside? Your birthday being long gone, your heart doesn’t skip a beat, your mind however goes into overdrive.
Once home you make a cup of tea and sit looking at the envelope. Opened, the front of the card reveals a gorgeous and highly appropriate image from your past, though very few senders would know this. It also reveals something called a ‘magbutt’ (now there’s something I could ponder about for days) … evidently it’s a cross between a magnet and a button … who knew?
The words inside the card have to be read several times, and once assimilated a warmth engulfs your soul, there’s no more room left for thoughts of quick sand … life is once again a most beautiful place, a place well worth the effort. Pinning the card on the wall in front of your desk it will serve as a wonderful motivator.
Taking one more look at the cryptic signature you wonder how you can let the sender know about the sheer delight they’ve created.

Clearly the only thing to do is to blog about it and hope they stumble across this post.

Blogging about it will also give you an opportunity to reiterate how wonderful random acts of kindness are. You’ve given out a few over the years, using involving garden gnomes for some unknown reason, and when doing so you’ve always thought it was you, the giver, who received the real benefit, the warm glow, but now you know the feeling is mutual.
Many, many thanks (you know who you are), your card and magbutt made my day, week, month and without you knowing it came at the best possible time.
Now back to normal ponderings … magbutt hmmm???
