The other night I went to the Art Gallery WA for a sneak peek of the Picasso to Warhol: Fourteen Modern Masters, Film Festival. The first movie put on by the Friends of the Art Gallery WA was Picasso and Braque Go To The Movies (more on that later). On the way back to the car I stumbled across a sight that had me pondering … how does an artist know when they’ve made it?
In the time of Picasso and Braque perhaps they judged their success by the number of young models lining up to ‘sit’ for you. Or maybe the quality of wine on offer at their table. Fast forward to 2012 and it would seem an indication is ….
