You know you’re in Byron Bay when…..(part 3)

You notice a preponderance of bumper stickers offering alternatives to war and healing.

Pulling up next to the Fear Doctor I read the good doctors promise of …‘all fears and phobias eliminated’.

Transfixed I pondered …

Living in such an idyllic paradise what on earth would Byron-ians have to fear? For once my mind was blank, nothing.

Then I noticed the P plate on the good doctors window and the questions kicked in…
What happens if you have an irrational fear of P plate drivers?
Would the mere arrival of the doctors car in your driveway send you into a full blown panic attack? If so who would you call….a backup psychologist, a tow truck driver, the RAC? And would your consultation still be covered under Medicare?
Or was it simply a case of a teenage son/daughter borrowing their parents car, ala Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? And if that was the case ….what impact would the inclusion of the sticker have on his/her chances of getting lucky?
With no answers coming I eventually pondered ….was I developing a fear of pondering????

  1. A fear of pondering? Oh no! What would happen to the Ponder Room?!

Byron is a particularly special place, isn’t it! I also remember lots of unusual experiences – all of which make me want to go back even more.

Have they still managed to keep out all the nasty fast food franchises? That was one of my favourite things about it!
