There’s just way too much to say about Byron Bay in one post so instead you’ll be seeing a series of posts over the next few days.
You know you’re in Byron when……

… the beaches are so mesmerizing they soon have you pondering about hiring a surfboard, even though the only surfing you’ve ever done was body surfing with your dad when you were a kid.

After hours of watching the rhythmic moves of the seasoned surfers you’re convinced that, given the chance you’d be creating moves that’d make Kelly Slater throw in a suitably sponsored towel once and for all.
Getting up from the rock you’ve been sitting on for the past hour you head out determined to find a board.
Two steps in and you realise your left foot is still asleep, as you stumble into the path of an ultra cool skateboard dude and send him flying.
With his ‘no worries’ refrain still ringing in your ears you head indoors to ponder the ebb and flow of your dignity instead.

Ha ha! Funny actually as on my Byron trip my (now) ex-boyfriend tried his hand at surfing lessons (I sat reading on the beach – and I think I was much more successful!). But it is definitely that kind of place.
wow so blogland nearly lost you to life on the beach, who knows what you would have been teaching people if that had panned out
Haha, very funny. That’s something I’d do.
Chris, bet you’d have been surfing ‘no worries’ soon after your first attempt
I loved that reply from the skateboarder dude. I seriously doubt I’d have been any good at surfing though, I’d have probably ended up with my head in the sand.
